It is neither a remake of William Friedkin\u2019s 1974 horror classic nor a sequel to 2023\u2019s The Exorcist: Believer.<\/p>\n<p>Flanagan is producing via his Red Room Pictures banner alongside Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment. Executive producers include Red Room\u2019s Alexandra Magistro and Blumhouse\u2019s Ryan Turek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an opportunity to do something that I believe has never been done within the franchise \u2014 something that honors what came before it but isn\u2019t built on nostalgia,\u201c <a href=\"https:\/\/bloody-disgusting.com\/movie\/3830046\/mike-flanagan-aims-to-make-the-exorcist-his-scariest-movie-yet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flanagan said<\/a> of the project. \u201cI really just saw an opportunity to make the scariest movie I\u2019ve ever made. I know expectations are high.
