Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski believes Jake Paul learned a valuable lesson after Anthony Joshua broke his jaw in two places during their December bout, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.\n<\/p>\n
Paul suffered a knockout loss to Joshua, losing every round on the scorecards, including a 10-7 fifth round after the British boxer delivered multiple knockdowns.\n<\/p>\n
The end came in the sixth after Joshua connected with a brutal right hand that broke Paul\u2019s jaw in two places, ending the fight via knockout.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t like it, but Jake Paul had great condition for six rounds,\u201d Arlovski said about the fight when speaking to MMA Fighting.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, he ran around; it doesn\u2019t matter. He got his broken jaw. It\u2019s not good. Broken jaw in two places is going to take some time to heal it to get recovered. We\u2019ll see.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully, maybe yes, maybe not, he\u2019s going to get back into boxing. But for now, he might understand people who spend 10, 15, 20 years in boxing and MMA, it\u2019s not like you\u2019re training hard like last month in a boxing gym or something or do MMA. People spend their lives over there.\u201d <\/p>\n
Arlovski criticised Paul\u2019s approach to boxing, suggesting the YouTuber-turned-boxer had been disrespectful to professional athletes.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, it\u2019s all the time it was kind of disrespectful to professional athletes, to boxers and MMA,\u201d Arlovski said.\n<\/p>\n
\u201c(He\u2019s saying) \u2018oh we spent the last year in the boxing gym non-stop!\u2019 My guy, I spent the last 25 years non-stop in the gym and not once, two or three times a day.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cYou think you\u2019re superhuman, you can come (and take a shortcut)? I tried to watch my mouth, don\u2019t say a bad word, but it\u2019s not cool. Let\u2019s put it this way. It\u2019s not cool.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
