{"id":457257,"date":"2026-02-06T08:50:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T08:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/457257\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T08:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T08:50:16","slug":"algoma-public-health-begins-process-for-suspensions-due-to-lack-of-immunizations-my-espanola-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/457257\/","title":{"rendered":"Algoma Public Health begins process for suspensions due to lack of immunizations : My Espanola Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Algoma Public Health will soon send follow-up letters to parents and guardians across the Algoma region.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Tuinema, the Associate Medical Officer of Health at Algoma Public Health says the letters will inform families if the agency does not have an up-to-date immunization record or valid exemption for their child.<\/p>\n<p>The process is required to ensure students comply with Ontario\u2019s immunization requirements.<\/p>\n<p>School suspensions for students with incomplete immunization records are planned for May of the 2025\/2026 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Families are encouraged to update their child\u2019s records and\/or book an appointment for any required vaccines as soon as possible to prevent suspension.<\/p>\n<p>For more details about school related vaccinations, visit the public health Ontario site.<\/p>\n<p>A child\u2019s immunization record may be incomplete if APH has not received their most recent vaccination information or if the child is overdue for one or more vaccines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Algoma Public Health will soon send follow-up letters to parents and guardians across the Algoma region.
