After four seasons with the Toronto Argonauts, the veteran linebacker officially joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats<\/a> and wasted no time making an impression at his introductory press conference.<\/p>\n

From his relentless approach to improvement, to his excitement about embracing Hamilton\u2019s culture, to a reunion with Bo Levi Mitchell, McManis\u2019 message was clear: he\u2019s with the Ticats to win, connect, and lead. A MINDSET BUILT ON \u201cCHASING GREATNESS\u201d<\/p>\n

For McManis, motivation starts with constant self-evaluation and a commitment to team-first football.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about the continuous effort of always chasing greatness,\u201d said the linebacker about what motivates him. \u201cAlways taking the next step, and always asking yourself, \u2018What more can I do within my job? How can I do it to the best of my ability?\u2019 And even more, how can I help my teammate while I\u2019m doing my job? When you do that across the board, it makes for great defence. After spending the past four seasons with the Argonauts, McManis admitted that joining the Tiger-Cats has already sparked strong emotions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited,\u201d McManis said. \u201cI know it doesn\u2019t always show, but I am excited. I got chills. I started shaking. I met some of the guys in the locker room, and you can just feel it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s nice. It\u2019s family-oriented. Everybody wants to get better. Everybody wants to be connected in some kind of way. That\u2019s what I\u2019m here to help with. I\u2019m here to be a part of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being a seasoned veteran, McManis described feeling energized by Hamilton\u2019s environment. The culture, chemistry, and hunger for improvement stood out to him immediately, and he sees himself as someone who can help strengthen those bonds.<\/p>\n

One of the most intriguing storylines surrounding McManis\u2019 arrival is his reunion with quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell. The two won a Grey Cup together in 2018 with the Calgary Stampeders, and now they\u2019ll share a locker room once again in Hamilton.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess that would be the perfect story in the end,\u201d said the three-time Grey Cup champion about reuniting with Bo and potentially playing in Calgary for the 113th Grey Cup. \u201cIt\u2019s exciting. I\u2019ve got a lot of love for Bo, a lot of love for what he\u2019s done for the league, and a lot of love for what he\u2019s done, not just when we were teammates back then.<\/p>\n
