{"id":458314,"date":"2026-02-06T20:42:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T20:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/458314\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T20:42:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T20:42:08","slug":"oleksandr-usyk-announces-return-of-promotional-company-something-big-is-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/458314\/","title":{"rendered":"Oleksandr Usyk announces return of promotional company: &#8220;Something big is coming&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/oleksandr-usyk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oleksandr Usyk<\/a> has revealed some big news ahead of his impending return to the ring.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian has established himself as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, having compiled a stellar record which has seen him become undisputed across two weight divisions.<\/p>\n<p>His first undisputed triumph came at cruiserweight back in 2018, before he moved up to the banner division and claimed all four heavyweight world titles on two occasions.<\/p>\n<p>The latest of those was last July when he knocked out Daniel Dubois inside five rounds, and while he may have since relinquished the WBO title, Usyk still remains in possession of the WBC, WBA and IBF belts.<\/p>\n<p>It appeared that a showdown with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was next on the agenda for the Ukrainian, but after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cgk84d1661go\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Wilder instead signed a deal to fight Derek Chisora in April<\/a>, it has left fans wondering who Usyk could face next.<\/p>\n<p>He may have now hinted towards who will promoting his next fight, after <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/usykaa\/status\/2019796135653654628?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">revealing on social media<\/a> that his own promotional firm is set to stage \u2018something big\u2019 soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsyk 17 Promotions is back! Something big is coming soon, you definitely won\u2019t want to miss it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DAZNBoxing\/status\/2019810738332922019?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Usyk then revealed a further update<\/a>, stating that the promotion will be hosting a tournament in his homeland of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis spring in Kyiv we want to hold a big tournament. We\u2019ll announce it a little later and where it will be, on what date, and the main event and undercard fighters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be exclusively young promising boxers from Ukraine and beyond. We\u2019ll help these guys reach their goals and everything that depends on us to do we\u2019ll do it for the growth of new champions in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of now it is still not official who Usyk will face when he returns, but promoter Frank Warren has given a big suggestion as to who that could be against, <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/frank-warren-on-usyk-next-fight\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after appearing to confirm a shock opponent for the Ukrainian.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Oleksandr Usyk has revealed some big news ahead of his impending return to the ring.
