Jessica Simpson<\/a> is in awe of her tallest gift. <\/p>\n

Indeed, the \u201cWith You\u201d singer showed how much her and estranged husband Eric Johnson\u2019s son, 12-year-old Ace, has grown up while sharing a glimpse into them spending quality time together. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy 12yr old is much taller than mama,\u201d Jessica wrote on her Feb. 6 Instagram Stories<\/a> alongside a photo set to Ben E. King\u2019s song \u201cStand By Me,\u201d which sees Ace giving her a kiss on the forehead. She added, \u201cFun fact, he was born to this tune.\u201d <\/p>\n

True to the track\u2019s theme, the All\u2019s Fair actor has been standing next to her son as he hits new milestones. Last December, she offered a look at how Ace and his siblings Maxwell, 13, and Birdie, 6\u2014who she also shares with the retired NFL player\u2014celebrated their second Christmas in Nashville<\/a>, where they relocated to from Los Angeles in 2023<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cChristmas time is here!\u201d Jessica captioned her Instagram post<\/a> that month, including a photo of them smiling in front of their decorated tree. \u201cWhat the month of December brings to my kiddos has always been about the genuine feelings of love, excitement, hope, happiness, grace and pure JOY!\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, five months earlier, she dedicated a touching tribute<\/a> to Ace for his 12th birthday. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou are the sun. You are the moon. You are the wishes of every shooting star,\u201d the \u201cIrresistible\u201d star wrote alongside a collage of him walking around Six Flags. \u201cYou are the light. You are the way. You are the love that makes your Mama\u2019s heart glow! There\u2019s absolutely nothing you can\u2019t do. You excel in every single thing without even tryin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still reflecting on his bright personality, she added, \u201cYou\u2019re just that kid with a heart of gold that can do it ALL. Everything you do and all that you are makes me so very proud. I love you Ace the Great!\u201d<\/p>\n

And as Jessica continues to honor her kids\u2019 most special moments, she\u2019s also working on her co-parenting relationship with Eric. Indeed, the former couple\u2014who confirmed their separation in January 2025<\/a>\u2014have prioritized bonding with their kids throughout the year, a decision she\u2019s proud they\u2019ve committed to. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what, your kid is half the other person,\u201d she explained to TMZ<\/a> last November. \u201cAlways have respect in what you say around [your kids] so they can always have a good perspective on it. Unconditional love is important.\u201d<\/p>\n
