No one wants to get in the pit<\/a> with Kid Rock. Rock band Shinedown is the latest act to pull out of Robert James Ritchie\u2019s MAGA-adjacent<\/a> \u201cRock the Country\u201d music festival. \u201cWe know this decision will create differences of opinion. But we do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division,\u201d the band wrote on Instagram February 6. \u201cAnd to our fans, thank you for supporting and believing in us. We love and appreciate you always.\u201d So far, Shinedown is the fourth musician\/group to pull out of the \u201cdivisive\u201d festival.<\/p>\n

Rapper Ludacris was the first act to pull out of the \u201cRock the Country\u201d festival, days after his name was seen on the official lineup. Reps told Rolling Stone<\/a> Luda was never going to perform, and that his inclusion was a \u201cmix-up.\u201d Oopsie. \u201cLines got crossed and he wasn\u2019t supposed to be on there,\u201d they said. Shortly after that, country artists Morgan Wade and Carter Faith pulled out as well. Reality TV fans may remember Wade from her confusing friendship with Kyle Richards<\/a> on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Wade\u2019s music video teasing a romantic relationship with Richards.<\/p>\n

Jason Aldean remains committed, as does Blake Shelton,\u00a0Creed, Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, and Jelly Roll. Aldean and Hank II\u2019s politics are well-known<\/a>. Jelly Roll demurred from speaking about his ideological stances at the Grammys Sunday night<\/a>. When asked about America\u2019s political climate after winning Best Contemporary Country Album<\/a>, Mr. Roll said \u201cYou know, I\u2019m a dumb redneck. I haven\u2019t watched enough.\u201d Jelly Roll also teased becoming more explicitly political within this upcoming week. \u201cEverybody\u2019s going to hear exactly what I have to say about it in the most loud and clear way I\u2019ve ever spoken in my life,\u201d he said. \u201cSo I look forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
