interview with MMA Fighting<\/a>, Feldman teased a possible homecoming for \u201cPlatinum,\u201d while also saying the opponent reveal, if it comes together, would be a huge \u2014 and shocking \u2014 name for the fans to hear.<\/p>\n\u201cWe\u2019re probably targeting right around the May area,\u201d Feldman said. \u201cIt\u2019s a huge name. It will be the biggest name that he ever fought times five. Huge name. It\u2019s going to be unbelievable. \u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody\u2019s going to be a little surprised by it. But it\u2019s a big name and it\u2019s going to be a big event down here. Mike\u2019s from down here so we want to do a homecoming with him. It\u2019s going to be a huge, huge name here in the Orlando area. It\u2019s going to be big.\u201d<\/p>\n
Perry was asked to provide whatever context he could to what Feldman had to say after the quote was read to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I know some things, but some of the things you said were a little different, you know, area-wise,\u201d Perry told MMA Fighting. \u201cAnd some things get misconstrued, and whenever you talk about stuff, things kind of change a little bit down through the timeline somewhere. So I am excited and I hope it does come together, [it] would be an honor.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe athlete is definitely a dangerous one and I\u2019m going to do whatever I have to do to be my best self in the ring and give the people the bloodiest, most violent mess that I can cause. I\u2019m coming to cause havoc in that ring and be unpredictable and unstoppable. So hopefully this all comes together, the fans get this big name that they\u2019re looking for, and it\u2019s always an honor when I get in that ring, man.<\/p>\n
\u201cI put so much work in, effort and time, we make videos, I have to do the workouts, I have to wake up, I have to eat right. And [if] another high-level athlete [is] doing the same things for us to clash? It\u2019s going to be awesome for sure. I\u2019m just preparing for May, and we\u2019ll see. Hopefully soon there\u2019s good news.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since Perry parted ways with the UFC and signed with BKFC, he\u2019s been the face and star of the promotion. With wins over the likes of Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves, the 34-year-old would love to take his talents back to the Orlando area to compete in front of a hometown crowd for the first time since his early MMA days.<\/p>\n
As far as the opponent hype goes, Perry concurs with Feldman, that if the fight gets made, it will be the biggest name he\u2019s faced \u201ctimes five.\u201d<\/p>\n
