{"id":460090,"date":"2026-02-07T17:04:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T17:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/460090\/"},"modified":"2026-02-07T17:04:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T17:04:09","slug":"blue-jays-invite-rhps-tanner-andrews-nate-garkow-to-spring-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/460090\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Jays invite RHPs Tanner Andrews, Nate Garkow to spring training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Right-handed pitchers Tanner Andrews and Nate Garkow have been given spring invites, the team <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BlueJays\/status\/2020165703282606143?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">announced<\/a> Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>The moves for the two righties come after the Blue Jays signed lefty pitcher Josh Fleming to a minor-league deal with a spring invite.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews, 30, is a career minor-league reliever, having spent the last seven seasons moving between six different minor-league levels. <\/p>\n<p>In 2025, he pitched with the Wichita Wind Surge, the Minnesota Twins&#8217; double-A affiliate, where he earned a 3.78 ERA and 1.440 WHIP in 16.2 innings over 14 appearances out of the bullpen. <\/p>\n<p>Garkow, 28, has been with the Blue Jays organization for the last two seasons, joining as a free agent ahead of the 2024 season. <\/p>\n<p>In 39 appearances split between double-A New Hampshire and high-A Vancouver, the Arcadia, Calif., native pitched to a 3.19 ERA with a 1.118 WHIP over 53.2 innings. <\/p>\n<p>Fleming, 29, spent all of 2025 as a reliever in triple-A with the Seattle Mariners. He posted a 4.91 ERA over 84.1 innings while striking out 44.<\/p>\n<p>Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 draft by the Rays, Fleming broke into the big leagues in 2020 with Tampa Bay.<\/p>\n<p>He last pitched in the majors in 2024 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, carrying a 4.02 ERA over 31.1 innings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Right-handed pitchers Tanner Andrews and Nate Garkow have been given spring invites, the team announced Saturday.
