In what was seen by many to be a pick \u2019em fight, Crawford dominated to become undisputed.<\/p>\n<p>After a short stop at super-welterweight \u2013 beating Israil Madrimov to become a four-weight titleholder \u2013 \u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford then leaped up to challenge Saul \u2018Canelo\u2019 Alvarez. That unanimous decision win last year made him a four-time undisputed, five-division champion. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/47329054\/terence-crawford-retires-boxing-else-left-prove\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Months later, he would announce his retirement fro the sport with an undefeated record of 42-0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Md-pOK_ulkM\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FightHype<\/a>, Spence praised his former rival for bowing out at the best time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I wasn\u2019t surprised. I mean, he\u2019s done everything you can do in the sport, so what\u2019s left? He\u2019s got his health \u2013 that\u2019s the most important thing to take. He\u2019s got his kids, his family, and you want to be there for them. It must\u2019ve been beautiful to retire when he\u2019s on top, because a lot of fighters don\u2019t get to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite big fight opportunities and significant money on the table, Crawford seems to be sticking to his guns and staying retired.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/errol-spence-jr-called-out-for-legacy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The same may not be said for Spence, who has been out of action since that 2023 defeat but linked with a return on a few occasions.<\/a> The 35 year old keeps tight-lipped about a potential comeback when asked, suggesting some part of him has a desire to fight on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Victory over Errol Spence Jr was a significant part of Terence Crawford\u2019s record-breaking career.
