HOUSTON \u2014 The Rice Men’s Golf spring season begins Feb. 9-10, when Davis Byrd<\/a>, Henry Daly<\/a> and Raines Watson<\/a> compete as individuals at the Bentwater Intercollegiate, at Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery, Texas.

\nHenry Daly<\/a> \u2013 Individual \u2026 transfer from Virginia \u2026 in his second stint at Rice, where he began his collegiate career as a freshman in 2022 \u2026 second on the team with a 71.50 stroke average and 10 rounds of par or better \u2026 tied for the team lead with 62 birdies \u2026 three rounds in the 60’s \u2026 had a career-best tied for fourth-place finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (9\/29-30), where he tied his career-low round 67 in the first round \u2026 tied for 18th-place at the Trinity Forest Invitational (10\/5-7) \u2026 tied for 27th-place at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate \u2026 as a freshman, participated in four tournaments \u2026 had a 70.91 stroke average \u2026 four top 20 finishes \u2026 seven rounds of par or better \u2026 five rounds in the 60’s \u2026 had a season-best seventh-place tie at the Tempest Collegiate (10\/9-11).

\nRaines Watson<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Individual \u2026 averaging 72.91 strokes per round \u2026 six rounds of par or better \u2026 two rounds in the 60’s \u2026 12th-place at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (9\/29-30) \u2026 tied for 23rd-place at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational (10\/25) \u2026 averaged 73.23 strokes per round in his junior events \u2026 last year, won the Region 3-5A tournament with a 74-68 (142) and finished third at the UIL Class 5-A state tournament \u2026 qualified for the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur by firing a three-under par 67, tying for fourth-place \u2026 in 2024, won the District 21-5A title and finished fourth at the regional tournament to earn a spot in the Texas State Championship \u2026 had runner-up finishes at the Legends Junior Tour (LJT) Winter Classic, carding 71-69 to finish -4, as well as at the Greenwood Cup \u2026 finished second at the Southern Texas PGA’s Antigua Bluebonnet Classic \u2026 at the Taylor Gooch Foundation Junior Championship, he fired a second round 67, leading to a third-place finish.<\/p>\n

Davis Byrd<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Individual \u2026 has a 73.89 stroke average \u2026 four rounds of par or better \u2026 has 25 birdies on the year \u2026 tied for 23rd-place at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic after opening with rounds of 72-71 (10\/29-30) \u2026 tied for 41st-place at the Argent Financial Classic, where he set career-lows for 36-hole score (145) and 54-hole score (216).
