{"id":462418,"date":"2026-02-08T20:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T20:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/462418\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T20:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T20:47:09","slug":"cadillac-to-utilise-f1-rule-for-extra-track-time-at-bahrain-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/462418\/","title":{"rendered":"Cadillac to utilise F1 rule for extra track time at Bahrain test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/tag\/cadillac\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac<\/a> are set to exhaust its quota of filming days to get on track before the second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a> pre-season test in Bahrain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cadillacf1team.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The General-Motors backed outfit<\/a> will enter its first-ever season in the sport this year, after getting the thumbs up to become F1\u2019s 11th team mid-way last year.<\/p>\n<p>The task to get its car ready for on-track action <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/2025\/11\/16\/time-is-the-enemy-cadillac-reveals-the-tight-margins-surrounding-its-f1-debut\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has been a documented, monumental task<\/a>. But there\u2019s still a long way to go for Cadillac. <\/p>\n<p>The team debuted its 2026 challenger during a filming day in Silverstone before hitting the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the private shakedown in January. <\/p>\n<p>While first impressions were positive for Cadillac \u2013 running during the entire allowed duration of three days \u2013 it is far from in-sync with its package. <\/p>\n<p>The duo of Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas ran a grand total of 164 laps \u2013 the second-lowest tally out of the teams that were at Barcelona, minus Williams of course. <\/p>\n<p>Naturally, there is still a lot of data and mileage that the team would want to log before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in March. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Sergio-Perez-Cadillac-F1-Team-1024x577.webp.webp\" alt=\"Cadillac is now just weeks away from pre-season testing\" class=\"wp-image-235542\"  \/>Cadillac was the second team on the grid to shake its car down <\/p>\n<p>All the teams still have two three-day pre-season events to do this, at Bahrain, in February. <\/p>\n<p>But Cadillac will take to the Bahrain International Circuit 48 hours before any of its rivals do. The American outfit has elected to run a filming day at the Circuit. <\/p>\n<p>As per the Sporting Regulations, teams are allowed to run two filming days during a season with its current cars for filming and promotional purposes. <\/p>\n<p>That said, it gives the teams a very real opportunity to log essential data with respect to its cars.
