DAVIS, Calif. \u2013 UC Davis women’s golf is set to get the spring championship season underway, and with the San Diego Classic set to get going from Feb. 9-10 the Aggies can now set their sights on a return to the NCAA Championships.

\nHO FINDS THE RECORD BOOK ON THE FARM Michelle Ho<\/a>\u00a0tied a program record with the third lowest round in UC Davis women’s golf history, shooting 67 (-4) during the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate, held at Stanford over the weekend of Oct. 17-19, 2025. Ho nailed five birdies during her round, scoring under par at holes six, seven, nine, 13 and 14 to power her round. She shot -2 over the front nine and added to that with another -2 on the back nine, finishing her round with three-straight pars after back-to-back birdies at holes 13 and 14.

\nCALDERON TAKES THE MIDWEST:\u00a0Lauren Calderon<\/a>\u00a0had herself a solid day at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational over the two-day tournament (Oct. 6-7, 2025), finishing third after shooting +2 (215). Calderon shot even par in the first round, using six birdies to carry her day along and set a strong foundation after 18 holes.

\nThe second round needed to be finished the morning of Oct. 7, but it did not affect Calderon who carried over from the Oct. 6 start of the second round to shoot -1 after nailing four birdies in the tournament. Three more birdies helped Calderon stay inside the top three after shooting +3 in the final round to end her 54 holes at +2 and in third place overall

\nBAI LEADS THE WAY IN FORT COLLINS:\u00a0Yu “Yoyo” Bai<\/a>\u00a0led the Aggies at their most recent tournament, finishing 16th overall, shooting +2 over two rounds in the weather shortened Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic (Sept. 22-23, 2025). Ho ended her two rounds at +3 to come across the finish in 24th to give UC Davis a pair of golfers in the top 25.

\nAGGIES GET IT DONE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST:\u00a0UC Davis used two solid final rounds to climb the leaderboard at the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 15-16, 2025) and finish fifth in the tournament. Hosted at the Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash., the Aggies shot +1 and +2 over the final two round respectively so make big strides up the leaderboard after struggling in the opening round.

\nIncoming Aggie Ho\u00a0led the Aggies with a seventh-place finish, shooting -2 on the final day with six birdies.\u00a0Vani Karimanal<\/a>\u00a0shot up the board on the final day, going from 58th to 24th using four birdies and only one bogey to wrap up an impressive day.

\nWELL EARNED HEAD JOB:\u00a0After leading UC Davis women’s golf to the NCAA Regionals and taking them within one stroke of qualifying for the NCAA Championships\u00a0Amelia Hicks-Beltran<\/a>\u00a0was promoted to head coach of the Aggies. During the 2024-25 season Hicks-Beltran held the title of interim head coach after taking over the roll following the departure of Cal Aggie Hall of Famer Demi Runas after the 2023-24 season. Under Hicks-Beltran UC Davis set three team records and had two individuals set program records. The Aggies saw Karimanal have a top five finish at the Big West Championships and they finished among the top six at the NCAA Regionals held in Lubbock, Texas.

\nSEASON NOTES<\/p>\n
\n\tPowered by a career-low opening round Calderon\u00a0was crowned the 2025 California Women’s Champion after finishing three rounds with a score of -3 (210). Calderon’s championship performance came at the Ojai Valley Inn over 54 holes and three days from August 20-22.
