David Chilton, who has rewritten his iconic personal finance guide for a new generation of savers, was a recent guest on Village Media’s ‘Closer Look’ podcast<\/p>\n

When David Chilton first wrote The Wealthy Barber more than four decades ago, his goal was to sell 10,000 copies. Needless to say, his estimate was a bit off.<\/p>\n

The original version of the now-iconic personal finance guide sold more than 2.1 million copies \u2014 and the rewrite<\/a>, newly released for the next generation of savers, has become\u00a0an instant bestseller.<\/p>\n

Ironically enough, Chilton broke one of his own biggest rules to write the original book: he cashed out his RRSPs early to finance the project. Fortunately for him, the move paid off.<\/p>\n
