and another was taken to hospital in a three-vehicle crash while two of them were stopped to change a tire on Anthony Henday Drive.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It happened on the eastern leg of the ring road, between Edmonton and Sherwood Park.<\/p>\n<p>According to the RCMP, Strathcona RCMP were called shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday to the <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/anthony-henday-drive\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henday<\/a> near Wye Road.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say two SUVs \u2014 a Chevrolet Suburban and an Acura MDX \u2014 were stopped on the shoulder of the northbound lanes.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"225\" once a day.<\/p>\n<p>Both drivers were out of their SUVs changing a tire when they and their vehicles were hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.<\/p>\n<p>A 53-year-old died at the scene, while a 21-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Both were from Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Jeep, a 21-year-old, was
