It\u2019s just a joke! (or is it?)<\/p>\n

While most people would (likely) assume it isn\u2019t practical or safe to wrap animals in housing insulation \u2014 which can cause skin irritation, respiratory issues, and severe illness or death if ingested \u2014 there are a few problems here.<\/p>\n

For starters, the images are incredibly realistic. Many AI images have \u201cclues\u201d in them that give them away (we\u2019ll post some of those below), but most of those visual cues are absent here.<\/p>\n

Second, some members of the public are quick to accept what they see online as real, regardless of how preposterous it may look.<\/p>\n

We scrolled through the first 50 comments under this Facebook post. While a few people asked if the images were a \u201cjoke,\u201d not a single one that we were served asked if the images were AI-generated. Many people were outraged and concerned for the safety of the horses, while we saw at least one comment asking how to donate \u2014 although to be fair, some of those comments could have been written by AI bot accounts<\/a>, which is an enormous problem across all social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Third, some social media platforms, like X and Instagram, contain a \u201ccommunity notes\u201d feature, which allows users to submit \u201ccorrections\u201d or challenge false information in a public post. While Facebook has community notes, the feature remains in its testing phase<\/a>, and this post does not contain any.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"(Facebook\/Alex Lex) It\u2019s just a joke!
