LAS VEGAS \u2013 The list of fighters wanting to compete at the White House in the upcoming UFC event keeps growing.<\/p>\n
UFC light heavyweight veteran Dustin Jacoby called for a spot on the June 14 card following his latest win in the octagon. Jacoby (22-9-1 MMA, 10-6-1 UFC) shot his shot after stopping Julius Walker (7-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) on the main card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 264 at Meta Apex. He also went the extra step and matched himself up, calling for a rematch against a former title challenger.<\/p>\n

“A Khalil Rountree matchup would be great,” Jacoby told MMA Junkie and other reporters at the UFC Fight Night 266 post-fight press conference. “I feel like I beat him when I fought him inside the octagon at the Apex. And again, not to take anything away from him, another warrior and fighter that I’ve faced in the past that I definitely left pieces of me in that octagon when I faced him. My right ankle has never been the same. I know that he remembers that fight. I remember that fight. It would be an honor to get that back and fight him again. Nothing but respect, man.”<\/p>\n
Jacoby and Khalil Rountree competed back in October 2022. The two fought in a competitive split decision that went in favor of Rountree. In terms of recent form, Jacoby finds himself on a three-fight winning streak, while Rountree is 1-2 in his past three bouts, including a TKO loss to current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.<\/p>\n
It would mean the world for Jacoby to compete at the White House. He feels it would be a great way to represent his country.<\/p>\n

“I just bleed red, white and blue,” Jacoby said. “I’ve fought for this country all over the world, and I just love America. This is my country. I bleed for this stuff, and I fight for our country. I represent our country. I’ve never been to the White House, and just the eyes that are going to be at that event. It would be super cool. It’s just an extraordinary event and an extraordinary moment to add to my legacy and to add to the end of my career. I think it would just be so awesome.”<\/p>\n
