Who can adapt to that the quickest? Who can take advantage of that the quickest?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>He drew parallels to earlier eras he competed in, where similar formats demanded early-season stability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember racing under a very similar format, and you walked into the season with a lot of anxiety,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you didn\u2019t come into the season and have consistent finishes, if you stumbled, if you had mistakes, if you crashed out, you immediately put yourself at a deficit to the rest of the guys who\u2019ve had great starts, and that is very, very hard to overcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the new design, every race matters, Earnhardt Jr. explained, noting that drivers must treat each event like a critical opportunity to improve their standings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will be more inclined to be plugged into every race, knowing what\u2019s at stake, what\u2019s at risk,\u201d he said. Gone, for now, are the days that winning a single marquee event guarantees entry into championship contention. Instead, a driver\u2019s fullest body of work across the season is front and center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earnhardt Jr. said this will require a cultural shift for competitors. \u201cYou\u2019re going to have to have great finishes.
