The Grey Cup will visit Melfort as part of a Saskatchewan tour, giving residents a chance to view the trophy and meet local CFL player Logan Ferland.<\/p>\n
MELFORT \u2014 The Grey Cup is scheduled to make a stop in Melfort\u00a0as part of a province-wide tour across Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
The trophy will be on display Monday, Feb. 9, at the Kerry Vickar Centre from 4 to 6 p.m., where members of the public can view the Grey Cup and take photographs. Logan Ferland, a Melfort native, will attend the event alongside the trophy.<\/p>\n
According to Kayla Prefontaine, the City of Melfort\u2019s community development coordinator, the visit is part of a broader tour recognizing football supporters across the province.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Grey Cup is coming to our community as part of a province-wide tour celebrating the passion and pride of Rider Nation,\u201d Prefontaine said. \u201cThis visit gives fans the opportunity to see the Grey Cup up close, take photos and take part in a community celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prefontaine said the stop also highlights Ferland\u2019s accomplishments and his connection to the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to recognize Logan Ferland and show him how proud his hometown is of his achievements,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Grey Cup tour is intended to acknowledge supporters throughout Saskatchewan whose support contributed to the Saskatchewan Roughriders\u2019 most recent championship season.<\/p>\n
The event is free to attend and open to all ages.<\/p>\n
