3:40 p.m. EST \u2014 The Toronto Argonauts have confirmed the signing of veteran American defensive back Robert Priester<\/a>, while also adding American receiver Andre Miller<\/a>. Whenever Priester is on the roster, the team tends to win the Grey Cup. Perhaps this is a good omen.<\/p>\n

3:30 p.m. EST \u2014 The Montreal Alouettes have added some offensive line depth from the defending Grey Cup champions, signing Braydon Noll<\/a>. The Canadian was a valuable sixth man for the Riders down the stretch.<\/p>\n

3:28 p.m. EST \u2014 The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have made the homecoming of McMaster product Tyson Middlemost official<\/a>. He is the rare Canadian receiver who brings significant special teams value.<\/p>\n

3:20 p.m. EST \u2014 The B.C. Lions have made another Canadian depth addition, signing Dawson Pierre, who was released by the Ottawa Redblacks last week<\/a>. They now have eight National linebackers under contract.<\/p>\n

3:15 p.m. EST \u2014 The Toronto Argonauts have officially added Canadian defensive end Jonathan Kongbo<\/a>. He had a nice bounce-back with Edmonton in 2025, notching four sacks.<\/p>\n

3:09 p.m. EST \u2014 The Saskatchewan Roughriders shore up a pass rush that is expected to lose both Malik Carney and Habakkuk Baldonado by officially signing American defensive lineman James Vaughters<\/a>. The 32-year-old is a model of consistency.<\/p>\n

3:06 p.m. EST \u2014 The Toronto Argonauts have finally entered the fray, confirming the reacquisition of three-time Grey Cup champion defensive back DaShaun Amos<\/a>. The veteran spent last season in Hamilton and was badly missed in the Argos\u2019 secondary.<\/p>\n

3:02 p.m. EST \u2014 We have our first surprise of the day, as veteran kick returner Mario Alford has signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats<\/a>. That\u2019s a savvy pickup for the Tabbies after Isaiah Wooden left for the NFL.<\/p>\n

3:00 p.m. EST \u2014 The Redblacks continue a busy day by confirming the signing of American defensive tackle Dylan Wynn<\/a>. He isn\u2019t what he once was, but the former All-CFL pass rusher still provides great depth.<\/p>\n

2:57 p.m. EST \u2014 Could this be the final year of the legal tampering window? There are some who believe it should be, as well as those who believe free agency should be moved up considerably earlier in the year. But if that were the case, how would the CFL stay relevant through the first few months of the year? Quite the dilemma.<\/p>\n

2:45 p.m. EST \u2014 The Montreal Alouettes have officially signed American receiver Jerreth Sterns<\/a>. He could be a sneaky good add as the team looks to replace Austin Mack, who they cut earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n

2:39 p.m. EST \u2014 The B.C. Lions have re-signed one of their own in linebacker Maxime Rouyer<\/a>. The product of France was recently granted an unprecedented special exception by the CFL<\/a> to turn from a Global into a National, which has likely extended his career.<\/p>\n

2:31 p.m. EST \u2014 The Ottawa Redblacks have confirmed the signing of strongside linebacker C.J. Reavis<\/a>. Somehow, someway, they let Adarius Pickett go and still managed to upgrade with a two-time All-CFL player at the position.<\/p>\n

2:28 p.m. EST \u2014 Defensive lineman Jake Ceresna, who officially signed with Winnipeg last week, has revealed Zach Collaros\u2019 sales pitch to join the Bombers: \u201cHow about you join my team and stop hitting me.\u201d Succinct and to the point. I have no notes.<\/p>\n

2:18 p.m. EST \u2014 The Montreal Alouettes have officially announced the signing of American quarterback Dustin Crum<\/a>. He\u2019ll provide an experienced backup option behind Davis Alexander, and probably won\u2019t fumble at the goalline in the Grey Cup. Win-win.<\/p>\n

2:09 p.m. EST \u2014 Winnipeg has made another signing official, adding veteran American defensive back Jonathan Moxey<\/a>. He may be a little long in the tooth, but that is a quality cornerback addition for a team that badly needed one.<\/p>\n

1:59 p.m. EST \u2014 Brian Cole II is officially joining the Ottawa Redblacks<\/a>. The American linebacker should be a huge boost to the special teams unit after making 19 tackles in that area last season with Hamilton.<\/p>\n

1:46 p.m. EST \u2014 The pace of announcements has picked up, but so far it has all been chalk. Who will give us our first surprise?<\/p>\n

1:34 p.m. EST \u2014 The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have officially announced the signings of Canadian defensive end Kene Onyeka<\/a> and American offensive tackle Eric Lofton<\/a>. The former should provide depth if the Tabbies want to make one or more defensive line positions a ratio spot, while the latter could start at tackle with both Jordan Murray and Brendan Bordner expected to leave in free agency.<\/p>\n

1:30 p.m. EST \u2014 Our own John Hodge is reporting that talks are ongoing between Winnipeg and veteran Canadian defensive back Nick Hallett<\/a>. He\u2019s a free agent right now, but a return is possible for the core special teamer.<\/p>\n

1:25 p.m. EST \u2014 It is worth repeating that new Redblack Demerio Houston originally agreed to terms with B.C., before that organization had a change of heart and pulled the offer. Whatever the team\u2019s reasons, it serves as an important reminder that none of these deals are done until they are signed today.<\/p>\n

1:20 p.m. EST \u2014 The West Final hero, Tommy Nield, is off to Winnipeg, the team has officially announced<\/a>. That is a huge boost at Canadian receiver for a team that was starting Joey Corcoran and Gavin Cobb at points in 2025.<\/p>\n

1:15 p.m. EST \u2014 The Ottawa Redblacks have entered the chat, officially signing American defensive back Demerio Houston<\/a>. He\u2019ll help upgrade what has been a porous secondary at times.<\/p>\n

1:12 p.m. EST \u2014 With all due respect to Brissett, he will go down as one of the most random Most Valuable Canadians for his performance in the 2024 Grey Cup. Three catches for 45 yards and an onside recovery \u2014 Shamawd Chambers must have been proud!<\/p>\n

1:08 p.m. EST \u2014 The Calgary Stampeders have officially added Canadian receiver Dejon Brissett<\/a> after a breakout season with Toronto. He\u2019ll help maintain their ratio after the departure of Damien Alford to the NFL, with three National pass catchers not outside the realm of possibility.<\/p>\n

1:01 p.m. EST \u2014 The Winnipeg Blue Bombers\u2019 two-year deal with All-CFL left tackle Jarell Broxton has been made official<\/a>. He will likely be moved to right tackle, with 40-year-old Stanley Bryant still holding down the blindside. How\u2019s that for a pair of bookends!<\/p>\n

12:31 p.m. EST \u2014 The Saskatchewan Roughriders have entered the chat, signing two former NFL Draft picks in receivers Freddie Swain and Juwann Winfree.<\/a> Not a CFL free agent move, but intriguing nonetheless.<\/p>\n

11:40 a.m. EST \u2014 The B.C. Lions are the only team without an agreed-upon deal reported to date. General manager Ryan Rigmaiden pulled off some sneaky quiet acquisitions last year. Will he do it again?<\/p>\n

11:30 a.m. EST \u2014 It\u2019s important to remember that free agency isn\u2019t just dictated by dollars and cents, but also by health. Several of the biggest names left available are coming off major injuries and may not be ready for training camp. In the case of star receiver Dalton Schoen, there is concern he will not play at all next season.<\/p>\n

11:24 a.m. EST \u2014 I\u2019ll be honest, these official CFL jersey photoshops give me a little bit of an uncanny valley vibe.<\/p>\n

11:08 a.m. EST \u2014 The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have also made an early addition, signing Global punter Fraser Masin<\/a>. The Aussie was the first overall pick in last year\u2019s Global Draft, but had been a free agent since finishing the season on Calgary\u2019s practice squad. He should push to replace Nik Constantinou, who signed in the NFL.<\/p>\n

11:06 a.m. EST \u2014 Santos-Knox began his career in Winnipeg and should push Kyrie Wilson for the starting job at weakside linebacker. That deal is now team official.<\/p>\n

11:02 a.m. EST \u2014 We have a deal before the opening bell! Our own John Hodge is reporting that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms with veteran linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox<\/a>. He was already released by Ottawa and is therefore free to sign at any point.<\/p>\n

10:58 a.m. EST \u2014 Before accusing your rivals of salary cap circumvention, remember that all CFL teams will have considerably more money to play with this year due to the revenue growth sharing model<\/a>. Additionally, not every dollar a player receives counts against the cap due to the ever-popular use of marketing money<\/a>, so teams have more financial flexibility than you may realize.<\/p>\n

10:41 a.m. EST \u2014 Friendly reminder: if you tell people at work that you\u2019re excited about the \u201cbig day in sports,\u201d they\u2019ll assume you\u2019re talking about the Winter Olympics. Be sure to clarify that you\u2019re talking about CFL free agency.<\/p>\n
