The Minnesota Twins<\/a> came into the 2025 season with a ton of hype. They were penciled in to at least fight for a division title, but the season did not go as planned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pitching staff let them down, injuries played a role, and the club ended up selling at the deadline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, that does not mean all was bad last season. Fans got a glimpse into what Luke Keaschall had to offer, despite going down with an injury of his own.\u00a0<\/p>\n

MLB analyst suggests this Twins youngster could see a sophomore slump<\/p>\n

The Twins selected Keaschall in the second round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He spent just a few seasons in the minors before he was called up to make his MLB debut in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He would go on to play a few games before he suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right forearm after being hit by a pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Keaschall would be on the IL until August, when he returned to the lineup. A week after returning, he would then be named the American League Player of the Week for August 4-10.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Keaschall played in 49 games, hitting .302\/.382\/.445 with four home runs and 28 runs batted in. Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter<\/a> suggests that he may not have that same level of success in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Massive gaps between his actual batting average and slugging percentage, and his expected batting average and expected slugging percentage, serve as a major red flag. The 23-year-old has the contact skills to be a useful piece of the puzzle for the Twins, but nothing in his batted-ball profile suggests his early extra-base production is sustainable.”<\/p>\n

Retuer believes Keaschall has elite contact skills, but questions if he can replicate his extra-base hits. Stats suggest he got lucky last season, but that’s baseball.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He will be someone that fans will want to keep an eye on this season.<\/p>\n
