Inter are increasingly likely to have Benjamin Pavard returned to them in the summer, as Olympique Marseille do not intend to buy him outright.<\/a><\/p>\n

The defender was sent out on loan<\/a> to the French side at a cost of \u20ac2.5m, with an option to buy at the end of the campaign for a further \u20ac15m.<\/p>\n

It had been hoped that Marseille would be willing to activate that purchase option and therefore put some much-needed funds into the Inter coffers.<\/p>\n

Pavard has made 26 competitive appearances so far this season for Olympique Marseille, contributing one goal and three assists from defence.<\/p>\n

His performance was singled out by the French media following the embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, and is therefore increasingly unlikely to remain beyond June 30.<\/p>\n

It would also devalue Pavard, whose contract with Inter only runs to June 2028.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old had hoped that this experience in Ligue 1 would give him more regular playing time and a better chance of making the France squad at the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n
