The reengineered Mercedes-Benz SEC from Renntech has a 7.5-liter V12 engine producing 660 horsepower. \u00a0
\nThe car also features a widebody kit that enhances aerodynamics, cooling, and high-speed stability. \u00a0
\nRenntech will deliver its first SEC V12 Widebody cars in December 2027.<\/p>\n

Renntech is building 12 reengineered Mercedes-Benz SECs. Each one will be built to order and feature the same M120 V12 engine found in the Pagani Zonda and the Mercedes CLK GTR. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The naturally aspirated 7.5-liter V12 makes 660 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a bespoke manual transaxle. The all-aluminum engine also features equal-length headers. Stopping power comes from carbon-ceramic brakes, which hide behind forged two-piece wheels.<\/p>\n

The upgraded engine will coincide with a full frame-up restoration of each Mercedes<\/a>. The car also features a widebody kit that enhances the SEC\u2019s aerodynamics, cooling, and high-speed stability. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Mercedes built the SEC from 1979 to 1991, offering the S-Class <\/a>in sedan and coupe body styles. The automaker offered several engines over its lifetime, including inline-five, inline-six, and V8 engines, but never with a V12. An S-Class with more than eight cylinders wouldn\u2019t arrive until the third-generation W140. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Renntech<\/a> says that it will deliver the first SEC 12 Widebody in December 2027.<\/p>\n

Motor1\u2019s Take: Renntech\u2019s reimagining of the classic Mercedes-Benz SEC is stunning on its own, with its widebody kit, but the fact that it has a potent V12 under the hood makes this restomod truly special. The oldest SEC on the road today is over 30 years old, but it\u2019s nice to see the model is still well-loved.<\/p>\n
