{"id":470134,"date":"2026-02-12T12:07:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T12:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/470134\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T12:07:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T12:07:11","slug":"nuveen-to-buy-schroders-for-13-5-billion-forming-asset-management-giant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/470134\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuveen to buy Schroders for $13.5 billion forming asset management giant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/SDR-GB\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Schroders<\/a> soared to the top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.STOXX\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stoxx 600<\/a> on Thursday, hitting a 52-week high, after U.S. fund management giant Nuveen said it would buy the U.K.&#8217;s largest standalone asset management.<\/p>\n<p>The deal, sized at \u00a39.9 billion ($13.5 billion), will create one of the world&#8217;s biggest asset management groups.<\/p>\n<p>Nuveen \u2014 the investment management arm of the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA), a pensions and insurance group  \u2014 will acquire Schroders for up to 612 pence per share.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will create a global fund management behemoth with almost $2.5 trillion in assets under management, including $414 billion in combined private markets assets.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in London-listed Schroders were up over 28% in morning trade following the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Stock Chart IconStock chart icon<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static-redesign.cnbcfm.com\/dist\/a54b41835a8b60db28c2.svg\" class=\"Collapsible-dismissButton\" alt=\"hide content\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Schroders PLC.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, the Schroders brand will be maintained, with the company remaining headquartered in London.
