The film, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, runs for 178 minutes and releases on February 12, 2027. It stars Nana Patekar, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, and others, reportedly inspired by Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Shahid Kapoor\u2019s much-awaited film \u2018O’Romeo\u2019 received an \u201cA\u201d rating from the Central Board of Film Certification<\/a> (CBFC), officially clearing the censorship process. The movie was granted its certificate on February 11 after implementing the necessary cuts and modifications.<\/p>\n

CBFC asks Shahid Kapoor\u2019s \u2018O\u2019Romeo\u2019 makers to modify dialogues and scenes<\/p>\n

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, the censor board asked the makers to modify several words and scenes before granting approval to the film. The word \u2018item\u2019 was replaced with \u2018Kumari\u2019, one term was muted and an \u201cinappropriate\u201d word was removed from a few other sequences. These changes were implemented to meet the certification guidelines. Interestingly, the CBFC did not demand the removal of any romantic or intimate scenes but paid particular attention to the film\u2019s violent content. <\/p>\n

Reports say that the censor board asked for several changes to reduce the film\u2019s violent scenes. A throat-cutting shot was shortened by about three seconds, and two quick cuts were made to scenes showing blood on a woman\u2019s face and a head injury. A moment where a woman gets slapped was also trimmed. The film now includes anti-smoking and anti-tobacco messages, and the disclaimers and voice-over have been made about two minutes longer.<\/p>\n

CBFC gives Shahid Kapoor\u2019s \u2018O\u2019Romeo\u2019 final runtime and release date<\/p>\n

After implementing the changes suggested by the CBFC, \u2018O’Romeo\u2019 received official approval with a runtime of 178.41 minutes, which equals nearly two hours and 58 minutes. The certification was granted on February 11, clearing the path for the film\u2019s theatrical release on February 12, 2027, coinciding with Valentine\u2019s Day weekend.<\/p>\n

\u2018O\u2019Romeo\u2019 features star cast<\/p>\n

This marks Shahid Kapoor\u2019s fourth collaboration with director Vishal Bhardwaj<\/a> and features a star-studded cast including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary<\/a>, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, and Triptii Dimri in key roles.
