The Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> have been riddled with injuries throughout the entire season, with LeBron James and Austin Reaves missing plenty of time.<\/p>\n

That said, starters Deandre Ayton and Luka Doncic have been sidelined recently, but seem to be nearing a return.<\/p>\n

Doncic is said<\/a> to be “good to go” for when Los Angeles returns to action Feb. 20 against the Clippers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, he may be targeting a return even sooner.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> NBA insider Marc Stein, Doncic is “on course” to play in Sunday’s All-Star game, representing the World Team. Regardless of if he plays or not, Doncic was named to his sixth All-Star team in eight NBA seasons.<\/p>\n

Doncic missed Los Angeles’ last four games with a hamstring injury after sustaining the injury against the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Currently leading the league in points per game, averaging 32.8 per contest, the All-Star game would truly not be the same without Doncic in it.<\/p>\n

Suiting up for the World Team would also give him another opportunity to compete with Nikola Jokic, a close friend off the court.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the USA vs. World concept is just what Doncic needs to get going in the All-Star game. The Slovenian has yet to score double-figures in the competition, finishing with a career-high eight points in three of five seasons participating.<\/p>\n

Either way, if he’s able to suit up, fans will be excited to see him on the court.<\/p>\n

Perhaps, he’ll find himself guarding his current Lakers teammate LeBron James or his former Mavericks<\/a> teammate Jalen Brunson.<\/p>\n
