South Korea\u2019s Hwang Daeheon won silver while Latvia\u2019s Roberts Kruzbergs claimed bronze.<\/p>\n

The Canadian women\u2019s 3,000-metre relay speedskating team has advanced to the A Final.<\/p>\n

Canadian women\u2019s hockey captain Marie-Philip Poulin has tied Hayley Wickenheiser\u2019s record for most career Olympic goals.<\/p>\n

Poulin notched a power-play goal in the third period of the women\u2019s quarterfinal match against Germany to match her former teammate\u2019s record of 18.<\/p>\n

Poulin returned to the lineup today after missing two games with an injury to lead her team to a 5-1 victory.<\/p>\n

Canadian speedskater Laurent Dubreuil has won the bronze medal in the men\u2019s 500 metres at the Milan Cortina Olympics.<\/p>\n

Dubreuil finished the race in a time of 34.26, behind Jordan Stolz of the United States and Jenning de Boo of the Netherlands, who won the gold and silver.<\/p>\n

Dubreuil finished fourth in the event in Beijing 2022, before winning silver in the 1,000 a few days later.<\/p>\n

The Swiss foursome opened with hammer and used it for an early deuce. Switzerland then scored pairs in alternating ends through the ninth for the victory.<\/p>\n

The team of Alison Mackie, Jasmine Drolet, Liliane Gagnon and Sonjaa Schmidt combined to produce the top 10 finish.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian team won the gold medal, followed by Sweden in silver and Finland in bronze.<\/p>\n

Canada gave up a three-point end in the third. Homan missed a double-takeout and British fourth Rebecca Morrison made a double-tap.<\/p>\n

The top-ranked Homan (1-2) is scheduled to play second-ranked Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland in the evening session at Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium.<\/p>\n

World Curling says official protocol was followed after a complaint about double-touching the stone was made in a men\u2019s curling game between Canada and Sweden on Friday. The game, an 8-6 victory for Canada\u2019s Brad Jacobs over Sweden\u2019s Niklas Edin, has received much attention after profane language was broadcast via player microphones.<\/p>\n

World Curling says umpires had received a complaint about second touches of the stone during delivery. Officials then spoke with both teams and set game umpires at the hog line to monitor deliveries for three ends, but found no violations or retouches of the stone.<\/p>\n

As players cleared rocks after the ninth end, Canadian vice Marc Kennedy bristled at an accusation by Sweden\u2019s Oskar Eriksson that some Canadian players were touching the stone a second time after releasing the handle during the game. Clips of Kennedy lobbing F-bombs at Eriksson have since gone viral.<\/p>\n

The Canadian men were scheduled to return to the ice Saturday afternoon against Switzerland\u2019s Yannick Schwaller.<\/p>\n

Short-track speedskater William Dandjinou will aim to bring home Canada\u2019s first gold medal of the Milan Cortina Olympics when he takes to the ice today.<\/p>\n

Dandjinou, of Sherbrooke, Que., competes in the men\u2019s 1,500 metres after winning silver in the mixed team relay and narrowly missing the podium in the 1,000, where he led into the final lap before being passed in the sprint to the finish.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Canada\u2019s women\u2019s hockey team opens the playoff round, taking on Germany in their first elimination game after going 2-1 in the preliminary round. The defending Olympic champion Canadians had convincing wins over Czechia and Finland and a humbling 5-0 loss to the United States.<\/p>\n

Captain Marie-Philip Poulin returned to practice Friday after being injured earlier in the week, though her status against the Germans remains uncertain.<\/p>\n
