Rochester, N.Y. \u2014 Aquinas stepped into the ring for this year\u2019s \u201cKnock Out\u201d Parkinson\u2019s Fundraiser.<\/p>\n
The annual event builds up the Mission Bouts in March.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s event brought together families, alumni, and advocates passionate about Parkinson\u2019s research and finding a cure.<\/p>\n
There was also food, raffles, apparel, and Mission Bout tickets for sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cParkinson\u2019s and boxing go back to Muhammad Ali, who ended up having Parkinson\u2019s from his boxing career,\u201d said Josh Leonardo, the co-head coach of the Aquinas Men\u2019s Wrestling Team. \u201cA lot of people find solace in boxing to help with their disease, it helps neurologically time up their body to punches and all that stuff. So boxing and Parkinson\u2019s go hand in hand when we talk about that kind of stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
All proceeds benefit the Parkinson\u2019s Foundation, New York Chapter.<\/p>\n
The Mission Bouts event takes place on March 6.<\/p>\n
