LEWISBURG, Pa. \u2013 The Villanova University women’s tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over the Bucknell Bison on Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg, Pa.<\/p>\n
Villanova opened the match strong, sweeping doubles play to secure the opening point. The pairing of Maggie Gehrig<\/a> and Emi Callahan<\/a> earned a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Jenna Stevens<\/a> and Lauren Monti<\/a> followed with a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position to clinch the doubles point.<\/p>\n In singles competition, Villanova picked up three key victories to secure the match. Miriam Gondorova<\/a> recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, while Lauren Monti<\/a> added another point with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 victory at the No. 5 position.
