NBA commissioner Adam Silver discussed several topics surrounding the league during the 2026 NBA All-Star festivities on Saturday. <\/p>\n
Silver revealed that expansion will be a topic for the NBA in March and relocation is “not on the table,” per ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill<\/a>. <\/p>\n “I don’t want to tease cities,” Silver said. <\/p>\n Brad Townsend<\/a> of the Dallas Morning News reported Sunday that Las Vegas and Seattle are favored if expansion takes place. <\/p>\n Silver also told reporters Saturday that “we’re getting awfully close to the 11th hour” in WNBA collective bargaining agreement negotiations.<\/p>\n WNBA training camps are slated to open on April 19, although a new CBA has not been agreed to yet. <\/p>\n CBA discussions currently remain “deadlocked” on the issues of salary structure and revenue sharing, per ESPN’s Katie Barnes<\/a>. <\/p>\n Silver talked about the league’s investigation<\/a> into the Los Angeles Clippers and star forward Kawhi Leonard as well, explaining that he’s not involved in the procedure.<\/p>\n “I haven’t come to any decisions yet when it comes to the Clippers manner,” Silver said.<\/p>\n He also weighed in on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently announcing<\/a> his status as a shareholder in Kalshi, a prediction market.<\/p>\n “We currently are looking at prediction markets in the same way as sports betting companies,” Silver said, per Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko<\/a>. “In the case of Giannis, it’s a minuscule investment\u2026..We need a better handle on all the activity happening out there.”<\/p>\n The topic of NBA teams potentially “tanking” games in order to improve their draft position came up as well. <\/p>\n Silver said that tanking “behavior” this year is “worse” than the league has seen “in recent memory” and was open to evaluating the format of the draft lottery, via NBA insider Marc Stein. <\/p>\n
