DaShaun Amos has changed his colours twice in the QEW rivalry, but there is no question which city is superior in his mind \u2014 or at least that\u2019s what he\u2019s claiming this time around.<\/p>\n

\u201cToronto is so much better than Hamilton because it\u2019s Toronto,\u201d Amos laughed when asked by Sean Bowen in an in-house video interview<\/a>.\u00a0 \u201cOn top of that, I think I\u2019ll just look better in Double Blue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amos, who officially rejoined the Argos on Tuesday<\/a>, spent the 2025 season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, experiencing the Black and Gold side of the Battle of Ontario. He turned in an East Division all-star campaign for the Tabbies, recorded 45 defensive tackles and four interceptions, and beat Toronto twice in three meetings.<\/p>\n

However, free agency will see him return to his roots in Toronto, where he spent the previous three seasons and won a pair of Grey Cups. While he appreciated his time in Steeltown, the grass wasn\u2019t necessarily greener down the highway.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy experience here, the brotherhood, the family environment, and granted, it\u2019s kind of biased because I did three years here and I did a small stint there, but it\u2019s unmatched, man. It was unmatched,\u201d Amos insisted.<\/p>\n

Any rational Hamiltonian would have to admit that their city lacks some of the glitz and glamour of their neighbouring metropolis, but parting shots are certain to test regional pride. That should add some extra fire when Amos returns to Hamilton Stadium for the first time in Week 7.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to it,\u201d he acknowledged. \u201cI\u2019m not gonna put too much weight on it, as I didn\u2019t last year, but I think it\u2019s gonna be an exciting game, and I\u2019m looking forward to it. I\u2019ll keep it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Toronto Argonauts finished third in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 5-13 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Franchise quarterback Chad Kelly was unable to play all season due to a fractured leg he suffered in the East Final the previous year, giving way to Nick Arbuckle, who threw for 4,370 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions to be named the team\u2019s candidate for Most Outstanding Player.<\/p>\n

The Argonauts ranked seventh in net offence, sixth in net defence, and seventh with a turnover differential of minus-eight. The club\u2019s leading rusher was Spencer Brown with 314 yards, the leading receiver was Dejon Brissett with 907 yards, and the leading tackler was Cameron Judge with 79 tackles.
