PALM DESERT, Calif. \u2013 The Washington women’s golf team continued play Sunday at the Alice & John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic, moving through 36 holes with a team total of 605 after posting +16 in round two. Washington sits tied for 11th heading into the final day of competition.<\/p>\n
Athena Ni<\/a> turned in the Huskies’ top performance of the round, carding a two-under for a score of 69 to climb in the leaderboard for a tie at 22nd at five-over par for the tournament. Ni’s round was highlighted by an eagle on the front nine and four birdies.<\/p>\n “Athena was able to put a good round together today,” said Head Coach Anna Temple<\/a>. “It was fun to watch her chip away after a bit of a rough start. Everyone had some moments of progress and we need to put it together for an entire round. Tomorrow is a great opportunity to do so before we have a little break before our next event.<\/p>\n Carmen Lim<\/a> stands tied for 30th at six-over overall after shooting five-over on the round. Amber Li<\/a> is tied for 65th at+12, while Mads Smith<\/a> tallied a +17 following a seven-over round.<\/p>\n Wendy Tang<\/a> rejoined the lineup, having her first day of competition in round two, recording a six-over.
