Sydney Sweeney<\/a> has said she\u2019s not a political person, despite rumors she\u2019s a registered Republican<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In late January, in response to the MAGA Barbie label, Sydney told Cosmopolitan<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019ve never been here to talk about politics. I\u2019ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of. And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. But it\u2019s somebody else assigning something to me, and I can\u2019t control that.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, why doesn\u2019t Sydney speak out to correct any false narratives?<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t figured it out,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not a hateful person. If I say, \u2018That\u2019s not true,\u2019 they\u2019ll come at me like, \u2018You\u2019re just saying that to look better.\u2019 There\u2019s no winning. There\u2019s never any winning. I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am. I can\u2019t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sydney doesn\u2019t see herself ever talking about politics in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo. I\u2019m not a political person. I\u2019m in the arts. I\u2019m not here to speak on politics,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s not an area I\u2019ve ever even imagined getting into. It\u2019s not why I became who I am. I became an actor because I like to tell stories, but I don\u2019t believe in hate in any form. I believe we should all love each other and have respect and understanding for one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
