Automotive and motorsport juggernaut Audi makes its long-awaited entry into Formula One in 2026 alongside a whole new swath of new regulations and rule changes. <\/p>\n

To kickstart the start of the 2026 Formula 1 season, LEGO is releasing 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car<\/a> to join the (very expansive) collection of Speed Champions F1 cars. Audi is a new team on the grid this year and joins Cadillac as new faces on the grid. Technically, Audi took over Kick Sauber, but nonetheless, it\u2019s exciting to see a proper motorport brand with tons of legacy join Formula 1 in 2026. <\/p>\n

77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car<\/a> is set for release on 1 March 2026, and will be available from LEGO.com, most LEGO Stores, and sites like Amazon.com<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s see how the new design of F1 cars and the new design for the Audi Revolut team look when transformed into brick form!<\/p>\n

The box has the same design as the rest of the Speed Champions F1 sets, with the nice racetrack-themed border art on the right. <\/p>\n

Inside are three numbered paper bags, a chassis, a sticker sheet, and an instruction manual.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The sticker sheet is delightfully small for a Speed Champions F1 set \u2013 I was surprised to discover that a large number of details on the car are printed which is always great.<\/p>\n

Build Process<\/p>\n

Bag 1 includes the minifigure, and starts building the model around the chassis piece. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Bag 2 adds the sidepods and more external paneling, plus the wheel axles for the rear wheels. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Bag 3 adds the front and rear wings, airbox, and halo, completing the model. Although I expected the build to be simpler with its smaller dimensions, there was still a lot of clever and unusual build techniques packed under its smooth exterior. <\/p>\n

Just one minifigure is included, the Audi Revolut F1 Team driver. Despite sporting a very simple torso print, the figure looks good overall. The dual-moulded helmet looks fantastic with the black and trans-red, and the figure also comes with a hairpiece and spanner as is standard for sets like these. <\/p>\n

The completed LEGO Audi F1 model looks good, and the colour blocking corresponds well with the livery despite this set being completed before the official final livery was revealed. The elephant in the room is of course the colour \u2013 I think some of the \u201cwow factor\u201d of the Audi F1 livery is lost by having the front half in light grey instead of metallic silver. <\/p>\n

I understand that it would\u2019ve been wildly unrealistic to expect it in full silver, but it definitely looks a lot duller in light grey (and the LEGO drum-lacquered silver colour is a near-perfect match to the real car).<\/p>\n

Still, the design has been adapted well to reflect the new shapes of the 2026 F1 regulations, including differently shaped front wings and an overall narrower body. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The front shaping is generally good overall. The front wing has gotten larger and thicker since the 2025 sets, but the shape is a reasonable approximation of the new 2026 cars. The printed slope on the front has the nice sponsor logos of Pirelli, Libertex, Adidas, and Revolut, but a strange detail is that the Audi logo is oriented incorrectly. Presumably this is a change that occurred during the change from concept to real livery, but it still looks a little odd to see the four rings represented vertically. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The rear bodywork looks a bit simpler ,but still incorporates nice details like the flat underfloor, curving sidepods, and generally smooth bodywork. The black engine cover uses a couple of curved slopes with the Audi logo printed in red. An upside-down ice skate piece in black represents the shark-fin tail, which isn\u2019t particularly convincing but adds a bit of detail. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The rear wing is much narrower than the previous generation of cars, and features two printed pieces which reveal the Audi logo when combined. It\u2019s attached only by a couple of clips so can move around, but it generally sits there unmoving if not deliberately adjusted. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The shaping around the back looks good, with the Revolut sticker and key details like the exhaust pipe and rear lights. You\u2019ll notice what appears to be a new type of curved slope on either side of the rear wing. This rear 3\/4 angle is probably my favourite view of the model \u2013\u00a0I think it looks most like the real car from here.<\/p>\n

The cockpit has the standard printed F1 steering wheel, along with a printed 1\u00d72 ingot tile for the T-cam on top which is a pleasant surprise.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The halo is built from a flexible rubber hose, and can be hinged up to place a minifigure in the driver\u2019s seat. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Because of the reduced size of the car, the minifigure\u2019s head protrudes a bit higher out of the halo than on previous cars. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

However, it looks alright when you look at the model as a whole, and it\u2019s proportionally still well designed despite the limitations. <\/p>\n

Comparisons<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how the Audi R26 compares with its predecessor, 2025\u2019s Kick Sauber C44<\/a>. (Sauber was the team that Audi purchased and took over to make their F1 entry.) You can see the overall proportions on the new car are narrower, reflecting the smaller 2026 regulations.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The specialised piece made for the front wheel axles are no longer in use, since the 2026 F1 cars no longer have the small winglets. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The rear wing is significantly narrower and less beefy \u2013 the specialised 2\u00d76 piece introduced for the F1 rear wing is also no longer in use. While these changes are accurate, it does feel a bit of a shame and almost a step backwards to move away from these specialised elements. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The wheelbase of the new cars has also been accurately reduced, although only by one stud so the overall dimensions are not significantly smaller. Still, the reduction in heft is definitely noticeable across the entire model, with less chunky sidepods. <\/p>\n

Final Thoughts<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Overall, I\u2019m pretty satisfied with 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car<\/a>. It\u2019s a good rendition of the Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 challenger, with nice details throughout and no glaring flaws. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strong addition to a long line of Speed Champions F1 cars, although the different design thanks to the new regulations is definitely noticeable when you place it next to the 2024 cars. Hopefully we get more of the 2026 teams in updated renditions, especially Cadillac!<\/p>\n

That said, although the car is well-designed, it does feel like there is room for some refinement and improvement to the design \u2013 sort of how the designs of the previous generation of cars improved from 2024<\/a> to 2025<\/a> with the introduction of specialised pieces and a more cohesive design template. <\/p>\n

\n The model is well-designed overall and is a good representation of the Audi R26. <\/p>\n

\n Minifigures <\/p>\n

\n Just one minifigure in a set like this is acceptable, but not standout. <\/p>\n

\n Real Value <\/p>\n

\n Getting a little expensive nowadays, but still justifiable with a good level of detail and nice final model. <\/p>\n

\n Innovation <\/p>\n

\n A strong range of build techniques are used despite a deceptively simplistic-looking final model. <\/p>\n

\n Keepability <\/p>\n

\n Audi\u2019s F1 entry will likely be memorable in the coming years, and it\u2019s good to get the first challenger in LEGO form. <\/p>\n
