Kunal Nayyar\u2019s<\/a> recent comments about anonymously donating to strangers on the internet\u2019s fundraisers have resurfaced on X \u2014 and the reaction to the Big Bang Theory<\/a> star\u2019s quotes is pretty depressing.<\/p>\n For reference, 44-year-old Kunal shot to fame playing Raj Koothrappali in The Big Bang Theory, which ran from 2007 to 2019. That\u2019s my masked vigilante thing!\u201d Kunal then revealed. \u201cMoney doesn\u2019t feel like a burden, it feels like a grace from the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n And this two-month-old news emerged on X on Sunday when entertainment news account Pubity<\/a> tweeted: \u201cBig Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar revealed he has been using his wealth to secretly pay people’s medical bills. He sits on his phone at night and looks through GoFundMe, giving donations to random families in complete anonymity.\u201d<\/p>\n In less than 24 hours, this tweet has been seen more than 2 million times and racked up thousands of likes, retweets, and replies. However, the overwhelming response to Kunal\u2019s generosity is seriously disheartening, with many dismissing his kind gesture to dunk on the fact that he had publicly shared it.<\/p>\n One reply with more than three thousand likes reads<\/a>: \u201cin complete anonymity but here\u2019s a story about it that he shared.\u201d Another asked<\/a>: \u201cHe’s been doing it in private, was there any need for the public declaration?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt’s in complete anonymity except for the fact there’s a story about it,\u201d one more sarcastically wrote<\/a>. Somebody else tweeted<\/a>: \u201cWhy publicly announce this??? Charity must be done without another person knowing.\u201d<\/p>\n But others leaped to Kunal\u2019s defense, with one person pointing out<\/a>: \u201cFor yall crashing out in the cs It\u2019s anonymous cuz the families he\u2019s donating to don\u2019t know it\u2019s him.\u201d Another argued<\/a>: \u201cHot take – Doing good things for social media fame is okay too, because as long as people are being helped, nothing else really matters.\u201d<\/p>\n Somebody else echoed<\/a>: \u201cWhat matters is that he helps people.\u201d<\/p>\n And the rest just praised Kunal, with one popular tweet reading<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s one thing to give to a massive foundation, but there is something so personal and empathetic about sitting up at night and finding individual families to help.
