PALM DESERT, Calif. \u2013 The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team finished in 12th place after Monday’s final round of the Alice and John Wallace Classic at the Monterey Country Club. #HawaiiWGOLF<\/p>\n \u00a0

\nThe Rainbow Wahine posted a 299 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 907. UH moved up another spot after starting the tournament in 16th place following Saturday’s opening round. Hawai’i moved up four spots on Sunday and another spot on Monday to defeat three higher ranked teams.
\n\u00a0
\nSecond-ranked USC ran away with the team title with an 835 total, 26 strokes better than runner-up Eastern Michigan (861). No. 11 UCLA (870) finished third followed by California (874) and No. 10 Vanderbilt (876).
\n\u00a0
\nJasmine Wong<\/a> was UH’s top finisher at 9-over 222 after a final round 73 and tied for 29th place. After a shaky start to the tournament, the Honolulu native fired 2-over par over her last 36 holes. Maline Kraus<\/a> tied for 48th place at 227 while Sofina Firouzi<\/a> tied for 62nd at 230.

\nAlso competing for the Rainbow Wahine were Chloe Ku<\/a> (79=232, t-70th) and Emiko Sverduk<\/a> (77=233, t-74th) while Kaydence Kim<\/a> competed as an individual (87=250, t-94th).

\nUSC’s Catherine Park captured medalist honors at 11-under 202 after a final round 65, five strokes ahead of runner-up Alexis Vakasiuola of Grand Canyon (207)
