cutting-edge metropolises in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Yorkdale Shopping Centre opened its doors to shoppers in 1964 with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/fashion_style\/2020\/12\/what-eatons-catalogue-looked-like-history-mail-order-shopping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Eaton&#8217;s <\/a>at its retail peak, New <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/videos\/city-hall-construction-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">City Hall <\/a>opened in 1965, and the Bloor-Danforth subway line launched a year later.<\/p>\n<p>Sports fans will remember that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/city\/2013\/02\/what_the_maple_leafs_looked_like_when_they_won\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Maple Leafs won their last Stanley Cup<\/a> in 1967, and the same year, Etobicoke, East York, North York, Scarborough, and York were officially redesignated as
