“Snowfall amounts are going to vary considerably from place to place,” Gergely said. <\/p>\n
“Calgary itself looks to be on the fringe of the heavier snowfall. But we could expect, for the city, anywhere from five to 15 centimetres.”<\/p>\n

Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park are also under a yellow-level snowfall warning. The agency is forecasting snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres, with local amounts possibly reaching 30 centimetres.<\/p>\n
Tuesday is also likely to bring winds that will bring blowing snow and poor visibility on the roads, Gergely said. Temperatures are going to drop Monday evening with the initial push of snow, she said.<\/p>\n
“That’s going to be a big change from the milder conditions you’ve been seeing throughout the month,” she said.<\/p>\n
Drivers should be prepared for a slower and more challenging commute on Tuesday morning, said Chris McGeachy, a spokesperson for Calgary’s mobility department.<\/p>\n
Environment Canada says Albertans should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. They should also consider postponing non-essential travel and outdoor activities until conditions improve, the agency said.<\/p>\n
