Surrey is a winter tour stop for The Golden Anniversaries, a play that promises \u201cwitty, romantic and deeply relatable comedy-drama\u201d from Arts Club Theatre Company.<\/p>\n
From Feb. 25 to March 7, Mark Crawford\u2019s story of aging couple Glen and Sandy Golden will be told at the 400-seat Main Stage theatre at Surrey Arts Centre, on a 12-city tour of B.C.<\/p>\n
In \u201ca humorous and moving portrait of long-term love,\u201d actors Peter Anderson and Eileen Barrett play two people who\u2019ve celebrated every wedding anniversary by coming to the same cottage for a romantic getaway.<\/p>\n
The weekend marks 50 years of wedded bliss, more or less, though Sandy recently cancelled their big anniversary party and kicked Glen to the curb. Now, he wants to talk.<\/p>\n
The Arthi Chandra-directed show sees the Goldens recount the good, bad and ugly of spending half a century together.<\/p>\n
If the playwright\u2019s name sounds familiar, he also wrote Bed and Breakfast and The Birds and the Bees plays produced by the Arts Club company in recent years.<\/p>\n
