\nThe Shimano Tech Rep \/ Demo<\/p>\n
Support position will also lead and assist in marketing Shimano equipped bikes, product knowledge clinics,staffing consumer marketing booths, attending trade shows and sales meetings, interacting with the media and providing event market and product feedback to Shimano Canada. Please note this is not a typical Monday \u2013 Friday role, rather this position will be required to have a flexible schedule to attend events scheduled for weekends and evenings. This position is based out of the Greater Vancouver Area, British Columbia and covers the Western Canada Territory.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties\/Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Provide technical support to bicycle dealers andmanufactures on Shimano equipped bikes and all Shimano group company brands
\u2022 Represent Shimano at various events in a professional manner.
\u2022 Repair bicycles in a safe manner at fun ride settings.
\u2022 Provide demos, marketing and technical support for OEM and retailers.
\u2022 Transport the demo vehicle and equipment to\/from the events according to policies and regulations.
\u2022 Organize and execute independent bike dealer and non-endemic events.
\u2022 Communicate Shimano marketing messages to OEMs, dealers, consumers and advocacy events.
\u2022 Explore rental and non-endemic opportunities (larger events).
\u2022 Build Shimano brand recognition in territory
\nMeet driver requirements and policies outlined by supervisor.
\u2022 Participate in event logistics and budget planning.
\u2022 Understand and process new information quickly.
\u2022 Able to work 25 + events a year
\u2022 Set up and tear down vehicles and displays at events.
\u2022 Maintain vehicles, bikes and marketing displays.
\u2022 Stock and organize parts inventories in demo vehicle.
\u2022 Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
\u2022 Deliver and install in-store marketing materials at specified retail locations.
\u2022 Work together with each division of Shimano to assist their needs.
\u2022 Supervise event staff on Shimano products
\u2022 Submit expense reports in a timely manner
\u2022 Submit daily\/weekly trip reports
\u2022 Plan schedule for each year
\u2022 Working together with sales agencies to help their needs
\u2022 Over 75 per cent travel based<\/p>\n
Job Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of bicycle mechanics and ability to troubleshoot and repair bicycles.
\u2022 Superior time management skills.
\u2022 Excellent communication and written skills, including presentation skills.
\u2022 Ability to work unsupervised.
\u2022 Ability to demonstrate mechanical techniques to consumers and other members of the bike industry.
\u2022 Ability to drive long hours.
\u2022 Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required to fulfill event schedule.
\u2022 Computer skills (Microsoft Office- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook).
\u2022 Event support experience.
\u2022 High level knowledge of all Shimano products
\u2022 British Columbia Class 5 drivers license (or equivalent)
\u2022 Good driving record with clean drivers abstract
\u2022 Cross-country vehicle driving experience a plus<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Marketing preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n
Salary Range<\/p>\n
$46,000 to $72,000<\/p>\n
This range represents the full earning potential for the role. Starting salary is typically below the maximum and increases with demonstrated performance, tenure, and expanded responsibilities<\/p>\n
