Two people have been charged with arson and other offences following a \u201csuspicious\u201d house fire north of Brampton, police say.<\/p>\n

The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. on Feb. 6 at a home in the area of Mount Wolfe Road and Old Church Road in Caledon, the OPP says.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported in the fire, and police say Caledon Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the blaze.<\/p>\n

But police said the fire was \u201csuspicious,\u201d leading to a search of a property in Caledon on Friday.<\/p>\n

Police say two suspects have been arrested and charged with multiple offences, including arson and fraud over $5,000.<\/p>\n

The OPP says Mandeep Sutharson, 42, and Sutharson Krishnamoorthy, 47, both of Caledon, have been charged with \u00a0arson, public mischief, fraud over $5000 and obstruct peace officer.<\/p>\n

The accused are scheduled to appear make a court appearance in Orangeville on May 7, 2026 to answer to their charges.<\/p>\n
