{"id":481528,"date":"2026-02-17T21:31:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T21:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/481528\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T21:31:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T21:31:11","slug":"alberta-winter-storm-makes-for-dangerous-driving-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/481528\/","title":{"rendered":"Alberta winter storm makes for dangerous driving conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As winter returns to Alberta, drivers are being urged to be cautious on the road.<\/p>\n<p>The Alberta RCMP issued a tow ban Tuesday for the QE II from Edmonton to just north of Red Deer.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say blowing and drifting snow is causing reduced visibility and dangerous driving conditions that make tow operations too dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>Police say officers are responding to several minor collisions in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease avoid travel until conditions improve,\u201d Mounties urged.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NB &amp; SB QEII south of Edmonton to Hwy616 \u2013 TOW BAN.
