When Formula 1’s newest team, Cadillac, revealed its debut challenger in spectacular, multi-million dollar fashion with a TV advert during this month’s Super Bowl, it made a huge impact.<\/p>\n
The livery, however, raised eyebrows and intrigue in equal measure, given its black-and-white, split design, with one half of the car, from front to back, lighter, and the other darker.<\/p>\n
Cadillac CEO Dan Towriss said the livery represented “far more than a paint scheme; it represents who we are and what we bring to Formula 1.<\/p>\n
“Every detail is intentional: bold, modern, and unmistakably American, while respecting the heritage and precision that define this sport.”<\/p>\n
Without any splash of colour, however, and certainly lacking a drop of red, white and blue that would make it American, it raised the question as to whether Cadillac had caught the eye of the F1 public.<\/p>\n
RacingNews365 fans gave the livery an overwhelming thumbs up from over 1,800 votes, with ‘I love it, it’s fantastic’, collecting 62.73%. The remaining 37.27% felt Cadillac ‘could have done a better job’.<\/p>\n
