{"id":482235,"date":"2026-02-18T04:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T04:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/482235\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T04:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T04:36:08","slug":"ronda-rousey-to-return-to-mma-fight-gina-carano-on-netflix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/482235\/","title":{"rendered":"Ronda Rousey to Return to MMA, Fight Gina Carano on Netflix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/ronda_rousey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ronda Rousey<\/a> is getting back in the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a decade after her last MMA fight, the mixed martial artist announced she would be coming out of retirement to take on fellow former fighter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ginajcarano\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gina Carano<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Been waiting so long to announce this: Me and Gina Carano are gonna throw down in the biggest super fight in women&#8217;s combat sport history!&#8221; Ronda said in a Feb. 17 statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mma\/story\/_\/id\/47954480\/ronda-rousey-fight-gina-carano-return-mma\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESPN<\/a>. &#8220;This is for all MMA fans past, present and future. More to come&#8230; much more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The showdown between Ronda and Gina\u2014organized by Jake Paul\u2019s Most Valuable Promotions\u2014will stream live May 16 on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>Following her career in MMA, Ronda\u2014mom to daughters La&#8217;akea Browne, 4, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1412043\/ronda-rousey-welcomes-baby-no-2-with-husband-travis-browne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liko\u2019ula Browne<\/a>, 13 months, with husband Travis Browne\u2014wrestled with WWE until 2023 and has starred in the Fast &amp; Furious and The Expendables franchises. For her part, Gina last competed in 2009 and has since appeared in Fast &amp; Furious 6, Deadpool and The Mandalorian.<\/p>\n<p>After Ronda, 39, announced her upcoming fight, Gina detailed how the matchup came to be.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ronda Rousey is getting back in the ring.
