{"id":482814,"date":"2026-02-18T10:37:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T10:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/482814\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T10:37:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T10:37:07","slug":"manny-pacquiao-to-face-ruslan-provodnikov-in-exhibition-on-18-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/482814\/","title":{"rendered":"Manny Pacquiao to face Ruslan Provodnikov in exhibition on 18 April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Veteran Manny Pacquiao will face former light-welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov in an exhibition on 18 April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Pacquiao, 47, ended a four-year stint of retirement in July when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cgjgqzjez8wo\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">losing by majority draw<\/a> against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The eight-weight world champion called for a rematch after that defeat but has since switched his direction of travel and will compete in an exhibition bout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Pacquiao and Provodnikov, who retired in 2016, will fight in a 10-round exhibition at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight,&#8221; Pacquiao said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me.
