Multiple firearms offences were laid against a man in connection with an incident in Ottawa\u2019s east end.<\/p>\n
Police said on Feb. 16, around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to calls about a person who possibly had guns in a vehicle near a residential address. Police said when they arrived, they found the man in relation to the calls and arrested him.<\/p>\n
They searched the vehicle and found three handguns and took them. The man, police say, was bound by the courts from ever possessing firearms. <\/p>\n
Garip Hammoe, 41, is facing charges including:<\/p>\n
Failing to follow a court order and breaching release conditions<\/p>\n
Careless handling and storage of firearms (three counts)<\/p>\n
Carrying concealed firearms (three counts)<\/p>\n
Possessing restricted or prohibited firearms without the required licence and registration (three counts)<\/p>\n
Possessing firearms without a valid licence (three counts)<\/p>\n
Being in a vehicle while knowingly in possession of firearms (three counts)<\/p>\n
As a result, the east criminal unit is investigation.
