{"id":483660,"date":"2026-02-18T19:38:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T19:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/483660\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T19:38:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T19:38:07","slug":"teen-facing-murder-charge-in-death-of-ontario-woman-living-in-winnipeg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/483660\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen facing murder charge in death of Ontario woman living in Winnipeg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winnipeg police say a 14-year-old boy is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of an 18-year-old woman over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Winnipeg Police Service say officers found the woman\u2019s body at a home on Young Street near Sargent Avenue around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>She has been identified as Avontai Hartleib, a member of the Sachigo Lake First Nation in northwestern Ontario. Hartleib was living in Winnipeg, authorities say.<\/p>\n<p>The WPS homicide unit arrested the teenage suspect on Tuesday. He is also facing a charge of criminal negligence causing death.
