Coca-Cola Canada says it will spend $141 million to renovate and expand its flagship manufacturing, distribution and sales centre located in Brampton.<\/p>\n

The company intends to introduce a state-of-the-art production line at the Westcreek Boulevard plant that will be capable of producing at least 20 million additional cases of soft drinks and other beverages annually.<\/p>\n

The work is expected to lead to the creation of 500 jobs during the construction period.<\/p>\n

The Brampton bottling facility opened in 2001 and currently employs 1,300 workers.<\/p>\n

Premier Doug Ford was in Brampton today (Feb. 17) for the announcement and said his government helps pave the way for companies to invest in manufacturing by cutting taxes and red tape<\/p>\n

Coke Canada Bottling says it has invested more than $230 million in its Brampton manufacturing and distribution operations since becoming an independent, family-owned business over seven years ago. Beverages made there are distributed across the province and throughout eastern Canada.<\/p>\n

Coke is by far the largest manufacturer of soft drinks with a global market share estimated between 40 and 48 per cent.<\/p>\n
