Police have charged a Mississauga man following a hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead last month.<\/p>\n

The fatal collision happened on Jan. 14 while a female pedestrian was crossing at the crosswalk on Bristol Road West at Loonlake Avenue in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when the female victim in her 20s was struck by the driver of a black SUV.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the driver fled the scene without providing assistance to the woman.<\/p>\n

The woman was rushed to a trauma centre where she died from her injuries, police say. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n

After an investigation, police say a 26-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Peel police say Sundeep Sekhon, 26, of Mississauga, has been charged with failure to stop after accident resulting in death, and dangerous operation causing death.<\/p>\n

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, police say.<\/p>\n
