\n\tChristy Carlson Romano<\/a> reveals that she received positive results for a cancer<\/a> screening.<\/p>\n

\n\tRomano, an actress known for starring in popular Disney Channel shows such as Even Stevens and Kim Possible, shared an emotional Instagram video<\/a> on Tuesday, announcing that she and her husband, Brendan Rooney, underwent cancer screenings since her family has a history of cancer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy husband\u2019s came back completely negative,\u201d she said before taking a long pause. She added, \u201cMine did not back negative. So basically what that means is that I may have stagable cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u2018Even Stevens\u2019 star shared that her next steps are to get a PET scan. However, she is fighting her insurance company for that be covered.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Vulnerable podcast host then got emotional when referring to Dawson\u2019s Creek star James Van Der Beek, who died earlier this month<\/a> at the age of 48 after a battle with colorectal cancer. \u201cI live in Austin, and I was able to meet James Van Der Beek a bunch. His family\u2019s amazing. He\u2019s a pillar of our community in Texas,\u201d she said. \u201cThey always were raising money for the most amazing charities, and he\u2019s not with us anymore. Cancer is everywhere. Which is why I got this test.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRomano added, \u201cI kind of was in disbelief about it, because I was filming, and I was so happy to be back on set, and I didn\u2019t want to really think about it much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress also noted how it\u2019s been a little over a year since an incident occurred at her husband\u2019s birthday where she was shot in the eye<\/a> by \u201canother party\u201d during her husband\u2019s birthday celebration. At the time, a fragment was apparently stuck behind her eye.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe shared how thankful she was to survive the experience. \u201cWith everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cI love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much. I saw my life flash before my eyes and I\u2019m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant.\u201d<\/p>\n
